'47-50 H-D Speedball Emblems

The '47-'50 Speedball emblems were designed by a gentleman named Brooks Stevens. The late '46 Enthusiast magazine that introduces the '47 Harley models calls him a "noted industrial designer." Stevens also did work for Jeep (most of the design on the Wagoneer) and Studebaker. If you've seen a Chevy Tahoe with the roof panel over the cargo area that slides into the front roof to haul tall items, know that Stevens designed this feature into the Studebaker Lark station wagons of the early '60's.
